Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic performance. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. She first competed at the junior national championships of Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. The first time she competed in an international event, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medal. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female to ever dismount bars in parallel with a double backward salto. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry in her teens. At the age of a girl, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice performed by actors.
